Reasons to visit Albufeira
There are several reasons to visit the Council of Albufeira.

Historical sites
Visit Santa Ana Church, going back to the Arab presence, as well as the famous Torre do Relógio (Watch Tower), the Igreja Matriz (Main Church), the municipal Archaeology Museum, the Religious Art Museum or the historical town centre where you can see the Porta da Vila (Town Gate) one of the traces of the old medieval castle from the XIII century.
The Paderne Castle, situated 17 km from the town is one of the councils’ symbols and one of the most important examples of the Islamic military architecture in the Iberian Peninsula.
In the National Flag shield, there are seven castles being represented Albufeira and Paderne castles and their integration in the flag has the purpose of making the country a whole.

At the Marina de Albufeira it is possible to spend unforgettable moments of several leisure activities, entertainment and enjoy the excellent gastronomy in one of the restaurants.
You can choose from a vast range of maritime excursions that go from a boat ride to the caves and dolphin watching or “fly” over the Algarve coast line parasailing and practice dive where you can visit the “Art Reef by Vhils” the first artistic under water exhibition of the portuguese coast.
With family or with friends you can play “bowling” or go on a challenging “karting” race in electric cars.
Touristic Attractions
A few miles away from the city of Albufeira you have Zoomarine, fun family water park, where you find a diversified terrestrial and aquatic life.
You can observe or interact with sea animals such as dolphins, seals and sea lions, as well as observe tropical and prey birds.
There are many other attractions like the rollercoaster, carousels and swimming pools.
In the area you can also appreciate other aquatic attractions such as the Aqualand and Aquashow.
